Speaker - Dr. Frank Rooney PhD, Applied Biosystems Asia Paicfic

Dr Frank Rooney has extensive experience in the field of mass spectrometry for over 15 years. Dr Rooney is a application scientist at Applied Biosystems Pty Ltd, and is a highly respected chemist with considerable analytical mass spectrometry experience in the fields of drug discovery and development. He has published many scientific papers, in highly influential journals in the field of Drug Discovery and Mass Spectrometry. Research highlights include key discoveries contributing to the current understanding drug discovery and synthesis of Natural Product as well
as broad technical and scientific expertise in other areas of Chemistry. His career has spanned both the public and private sectors and has played a key role in directing the Drug Discovery, Small Molecule and Proteomics business at
Applied Biosystems. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Melbourne, PhD in Drug Discovery from the Department of Chemistry, University of Melbourne and is currently studying for an MBA from La Trobe University.
